Many new runners get started by joining charity running groups such ast the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. 10's of thousands of non-runners get started here and continue.
If she 'wants to' she will and the motivation provided by the LLS coaches and staff help keep people moving.
Many new runners fail because of lack of motivation, they need more than just running to run, charities runs help provide that.My girlfriend wants to be a runner but can't seem to get into it. Any suggestions/advice?
Maybe as a Christmas gift sign her up for a learn to run clinic at your local running store/club, along with a real snazzy running outfit. If you look good you feel good. If you run, book a holiday somewhere nice (does not have to be far away- even a weekend get away) and sign up for a run, spa day, nice dinner, etc.
Maybe make a challenge with a group of friends at a local 5K race and train together.
Good luck
Run happy and train smart:)My girlfriend wants to be a runner but can't seem to get into it. Any suggestions/advice?
Maybe she wants something that really isn't for her. She could try walking or bike-riding or perhaps even swimming. We all have dreams of what we like to do or be, be we need to be realistic about what really makes us want to push ourselves.
Getting close to the holidays. If she's like my wife, take her to a shopping mall having a big sale, just as they open. Give her a few bucks or some plastic, Park far away from the store entrance. Let her go. You will not be able to keep up with her.
challenge her to run 1 mile a day for a week. Take baby-steps. It takes a little bit to get your body to start craving the endorphin high, but if she starts with something simple like 1 mile a day for a week, she just get hooked.
run wiht her and push her. she won't like during the run but after she will be proud and soon she will be wantign to do it everyday to get the runners high.
Start our slow and work up to being a runner.. stretching is very important though.
She doesnt want it that bad dude
