nhs direct is used for medical advice if you or someone your caring for are not well or are worried about a health condition, you will usually speak to an operator first who will take your personal details and ask you if the phone call is for you or someone else, they will then put you through to a nurse who will again ask you some medical questions and by what you reply back to them they will then decide whether you will need to speak to the doctor or can deal with the matter at home, if you do speak to a doctor they will usualy advice you to see your Gp or if its a weekend they will advice you to go to the out of hours doctor or to go to A%26amp;E if he thinks its an emergency. you can also get advice on the nhsdirect website for symptoms of illness. They will ask you what symptoms and they then try and evaluate what it is you might have wrong with you. And if anything they think needs attention will get a doctor to call you back with further advice. They can't necessarily give a diagnosis over the phone.
NHS 24 direct is for any medical advice, information, they can diagnose as they have trained nurses but will probably advise you to see someone just to be sure.

but they wont diagnose without seeing you, theyll only advise, and if ness, theyll advise you to see a dr!
