I have flown with my daughter who is now 11 months old 4 times.
Bring LOTS of liquids (bottles, sippys).
Make sure that your baby drinks the bottle or sippy during take off and landing.
Also, its stressful to fly with babies and my daughter needed her pacifier the whole flight, PLUS drank a ton of water/formula/juice YOU NAME IT! In the 2 hour flight she drank 30 ounces! SHe was stress eating I guess, plus it helped her ears pop.
Bring toys so your baby can play with them. Try to get a seat that isn't in the middle of 2 strangers.
The flight attendants will work with you, if you baby is crying they will let you walk up and down the aisles or go in the back area where the flight attendants sit and let the baby play back there.
Good luck!I will be flying overseas with my 10 month old baby. any advice to make his flight happy and comfortable?
Try not to get stuck in the middle seat! Ugh, I remember trying to breast feed my daughter sitting about an inch away from a man who looked very uncomfortable with the entire process. A few BRAND NEW toys that he has never seen before might buy you some precious time.
But, try to enjoy the moment if you can. Someone can drive themselves mad worrying about what other people are thinking or if they are annoyed by the crying. Just do the best you can.
i went on a 2 n half hr flight from aussie to new zealand with a 7 month old, i dont know how u feel about dummies but if u like them, get them to suck a dummy or a bottle on take off and landing for ur babies ears.
My son fell asleep most of the trip but take some small toys.
Also if possible ask if u can have a row by urself, i was lucky and was able to do so
give him a bottle or binky on the way up then a bottle or binky on the way down. it helps pops their ears and relieves the tention.
