Why is it that I seem to be able to give good advice but not use it?

I tend to give alot of good advice and my friends often express that they are glad to have me as a friend because I help them with the difficult decisions. Even though I am good at giving advice (even on things such as love, which I have never really experienced) then I never seem to know what to do when I am the one in a pickle.

it is easy to give advice because you are not emotionally conected to the situation. This is how you can stand back , observe, and make a give the right advise. when one is in a picke (as u said above) you are emotionally involved and u tend to go for the option that hurts u the least even though it might not be the best way to go.
