Are there any good workouts for increasing bat speed in the weightroom? Any workouts or advice would be great?

You're too late for doing exercises (such as lifting), but if you want to work on running you're more than welcomed to.

Tryouts and games start in a month or so. I'd say just focus on building your skills as much as possible (meaning hitting), and then ask this question after the season and then you'll be set on a good track for next year as well.

It's kind of difficult to stick to a training regiment if you were to do it now, because if you spend your time working out (i.e. full body workouts Mon/Wed/Fri with conditioning most likely on Tue/Thur) your body is using up all those resources, and add on to practice (as you should be working on your skills by this point to be ready to go for tryouts and then the season), it'd just degrade your skill set because your body would be competing for the resources. Also, you wouldn't have as great of a benefit with the workouts imposing on your skills because you need to be slightly rusty with your skills so that your body utilizes its newly gained resources. This is why you should already be fit by that point.

Also, you need to be overloaded and get proper rest to receive the full training benefits on a work out. You can't work out once a week and expect to reach your ceiling level of fitness.

As I've said before: you should be fully fit before you attend your first practice/tryout.

Now, to really help with your speed, help give you the edge getting to first, and then on the base paths, out on the field, etc... sprints are great. You'll have to work the anaerobic system the most. I'd suggest doing ultra-short interval training.

3 sets of 5 repetitions of running 20 meters at 100% intensity, with a 25 second break inbetween each rep (to avoid fatigue), and after every set, walk for 2 minutes.

Then 4 sets of 5 reps of running 10 meters at 100% intensity, with a 20 second break inbetween each rep, and jog 2 minutes between sets.

Finally, 2 sets of 10 reps of running 10 meters at 100% intensity with a 15 second break inbetween each rep, and jog 2 minutes between each set.

If your performance begins to deteriorate, the set should cease and the two-minute break should begin.

And you should also do some aerobic fitness as well (ie. running long distances, try to run continuously for 60 minutes. Start off at first at a pace quicker than a walk, and do that for 60 minutes, then keep increasing the speed as the weeks go by), as it helps in quicker recovery from and increases the capacity to perform skill trials at practices, as well as increases mental alertness and tolerance to heat. This will especially be helpful when it's the bottom of the 7th on a hot day when you've been running after balls and running the bases. You want to be alert, you want to be both physically and mentally ready.

So, go do your sprints, ultra-short interval training.

The next day, go for an hour run.

Next day or so, USIT again.

And since you're focusing on speed I'd keep doing that, but maybe every third week or so mix it up so you don't get too used to it, so, an hour run, USIT, hour run.Are there any good workouts for increasing bat speed in the weightroom? Any workouts or advice would be great?
use a 5lbs dumbbell and throw it like a baseball just dont let go
