People have such high hopes for me and I don't think I'm ever going to get there.I'm realizing I'm never going to be all that important. I'm a little disappointed, advice?

Well...importance is as slippery as wealth. What matters is that you are contented with your life and you can always manage that, no matter what your situation is. You may not become a Prime Minister of the country, but then you can always pay attention to the smallest needs of those around you and use opportunities to make an impact for good.





By the way, if you don't have the will to do something you will never do that. I know I have never been slim and trim in my life and may never be so, but that's just because I have never made serious efforts for it. Think about it.
Don't worry about what other peoples hopes are for you, just do you...Find something you want to do and stick to it, it's simple... I guarantee you that if you shoot for the top then you will be successful...but it doesn't happen if you if you expect to be at McDonalds all your life... You have to work at something to become good at it...Nobody is all that important if you think about it...If President Barrack Obama was never born there would always be some to take his spot...Just don't worry about others and do whatever you feel you need to do to become SUCCESSFUL not IMPORTANT.

Being important is highly overrated. Consider this: if you feel this way, most of the world feels the same way. Want to be truly fufilled in life? Make the person next to you feel that THEY are important. You will never have a wasted day. Alot of people, ALOT of people, just need a kind word.
If you give up on yourself, then you'll automatically fail even before you begin.





No one said life was easy. But you need to try.
If you got to a position where everyone was impressed with you you'd still be disappointed ... take the psychological glitch from your childhood and dump it where it belongs ...sounds like stupid pride and ego massaging .. get over it .
Pick your own aspirations. No one ever lives up to someone else s expectations.I have high hopes that you will achieve your dream not mine or anyone else.Keep the faith and do not lose focus on what is important to you. Nothing worthwhile is ever cheap or easy.
Jesus loves you. When you're with Jesus, you always succeed.
I feel you man. Don't worry so much though... I mean, just how many really important people do we need? I've found the more important you ';think'; you are, the less you actually are anyway, so just live your life the best way you can to make yourself happy - I'm sure you'll always be important to someone! After all, isn't life about being happy? Why worry about what other people think... they're not you!

WHOA I thought that I am the only that has felt that way. I am half blind since birth but was always top of my class. Now I have graduated high-school and found out that I just cannot make it through college because I am just not fast enough of a learner. I can't drive, I just can't accomplish many tassks that my sighted friends can. How am I supposed to be productive and worth anything. One of my most important goals my whole life was to help others with my wealth and resources. Well it's shot down. good question.

Negative thinking will be a sure thing that you will never get anywhere but where you are now. Staying positive and focused leads to success. The potential for success is within yourself. Don't forget that. Also, success depends on how bad you want it.

My friend , The highest hope that any person on earth can ever have , is to be a child of God and brother of Jesus. To live in peace and harmony with yourself , the world out there and God's beautiful creation. I was there , and reached the top of my ambitious ladder , and once there found emptiness and inner loneliness which is indescribable . I was the top dog to society out there , but a puppy to the great worlds of the spirit.Only in Christ did I find what I was seeking for many years, that had gone by.In Christ my complete outlook of life changed , and the world around me did not matter anymore or what people thought or said.They could not offer me a life after death , nor the peace and tranquility I searched for so desperately.If you have accepted Christ into your life , you will get anywhere you want to be , according to His will for your life.The bible teaches us '; I would that you will prosper , as your soul prospers '; It is His will for us to do well in spirit and in body.So my friend just hang in there and believe in Jesus Christ and in yourself, as a child of God and you will rise to heights that no man can imagine. It is all in the state of your mind with the help of Christ.
First, how old are you? If you are under fifty, there's still plenty of time to be important in a great many ways. In your profession, all it would take is one really good idea which is carried out and not simply wished.





Second, important to whom? To the whole world, probably not. To your own nation, perhaps not known, but important in doing your share on something which is important. To your own town, there's certainly no reason why not. To your own family, you undoubtedly already are.





The people who have such high hopes for you have some reason for those high hopes. Delve into what their reasons are, and whether they are reasons that are important to you, too. Perhaps you are mistaking fame for importance. Fame is a relatively unimportant thing in most cases. Yes, as a performer or a politician, fame is significant. In most other instances, it is largely irrelevant, or happens posthumously. Many fine artists and other creative people were not recognized for their talent until after they died. In science and technology, too, it is often the case that one pivotal discovery or invention is not seen for the significance it has until much later, when others have built upon its foundation.





Just go ahead and do your best at what is important to you, and forget about fame or recognition.
start doing what ';you'; think is exciting and full of life. become the best at what you love and you will stand beside kings.
Do not live your life the way others want. If you do than who will be you?


Follow the path that you want to walk. It's your life!


It doesn't matter if you are important to others. What matters is that you are important to you!
so 3 trees were talking...


the 1st one said he wanted to be a beautiful box to hold the best treasure ever!


the 2nd one said he wanted to be the biggest boat and strongest boat ever build!


the 3rd one said he wanted ppl to look at him and think of God





so years later they grow and they are chopped.


the 1st one becomes a box where animals eat from, he's sad...


the 2nd one becomes a small boat, he's sad...


the 3rd one is just cut into pieces, he's sad...





well, along come mary and joseph and Jesus was born in a manger, the 1st tree realizes he is holding the best treasure ever!


years later, Jesus gets on a boat with His disciples, falls asleep during a huge storm and the 2nd tree thinks, oh im not strong enough to keep these ppl save, but Jesus wakes up and calms the storm. the 2nd tree realizes he is carrying the King of kings!


time later, the 3rd tree gets picked up and is holding a man...blood is all over, the tree feels dirty and feels they are being rude to Jesus...he feels guilty because he is the one holding Jesus for crucifixion...but on the third day when Jesus resurrects, the tree realizes that when ppl see him ( the cross ) they will think of God
Do you have the same aspirations they have for you? If not, don't worry. Do what makes you happy. If being important will make you happy, figure out something to do that will make you important. First, you have to define ';important.';
You are important to the creator and therefore to me.
