My best friend wants to be a writer. She has sent her work into publishing companies, but she needs advice.?

she needs advice or counsel of what to do when it comes to publishing her book, she is new to the game and she doesn't want to make any mistakes. Do you have any advice of where she my get counsel from or what necessary steps to take as she embarks on being a writer? My best friend wants to be a writer. She has sent her work into publishing companies, but she needs advice.?
If she is asking for advice AFTER sending out her work to publishing companies that hasn't she already embarked on her journey to being a writing, and as such wouldn't that also indicate that she could have possibly already made mistakes.

--- If she has specific questions then you should post them on her behalf because at this point it all seems rather null and void. Now if she wishes to ask if the procedures she has taken are 'typical' then perhaps she needs to list those and find out if they are standard. My best friend wants to be a writer. She has sent her work into publishing companies, but she needs advice.?
Te'Neicha, she's already made a serious blunder, perhaps.

If she's sent novel-length work to potential publishers or agents, she's probably put herself on their ';unprofessionals'; list--and my understanding is that yes, some really do keep such a list.

There are two ways to go to publish a book. One is to pay for it, with no expectation of selling it to anybody who’s not a friend or family, no matter how good it is or how much you work and/or spend to market it.

The one I recommend is the one that gets your book into chains like Barnes %26amp; Noble, Chapters, and Borders, and independent book stores, too. This requires a “real” publisher who pays you for the right to print your book, and who then markets it, including placing it in stores.

The big “name” publishers usually accept book manuscripts only from literary agents, using them to screen out manuscripts that aren’t likely to sell as books for whatever reason.

To get a literary agent, identify agents who have recently sold other novels like yours. This takes time and trips to a big bookstore, usually. Jot down the names of the authors in your genre whose books are currently on bookstore shelves. Look inside for thanks and dedications, where agents may be named. At home, do a search of each author's name, in quotation marks, and the word agent and learn who represents whom. Visit QueryTracker.com, GuidetoLiteraryAgents.com, and similar sites to identify agents seeking work like yours.

Research each agent. Find websites with career history, sales, personal bio, AAR membership, etc. Determine whether they prefer email or regular mail for queries. Figure out who’s a good fit for you. Don’t be afraid to aim high. The worst that can happen is they say no.

Write a one-page query letter, tailoring it to individual agents as it’s possible with the information you got from research, and send it to the few agents you'd most like to represent you. If the query letter is really good and you've done your homework well, at least some will ask for a partial or full manuscript. If none does, rewrite the query before sending out the next batch.

If she's trying to sell short stories, she needs to look up each magazine's submission guidelines and follow them exactly.

Some reasurring advice would be nice?

I have recently been suffering from anxeity, however my problems come in when i am not feeling anxoius i still constantly obsess about it all day everyday. anyone know anything that may help me. cheers SamSome reasurring advice would be nice?
Keep busy, exercise as this is proven to help with anxiety. Dont allow yourself time to sit and ponder!

If all else fails go and see your GP, they may be able to help you break the cycle by putting you on medication for a short while!

I have anxiety - I am able to control it to the extent that it barely effects me now! Best of luck! Some reasurring advice would be nice?
I understand your wish to conquer this without drugs and it is possible. You fear the fear which is very common! What you need is a short course (6 - 10 weeks) of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This will help you cope with the disordered thinking and to develop newer, more healthy ways of thinking. If you can afford private treatment just ask your doctor for a list of practitioners (they will be genuine and not Mickey Mouse practitioners!). If you acnnot afford private treatment you can get the treatment on the NHS but there is usually a long waiting list. Some Mental health charities will do subsidized cost treatments.
you might need to try some anti-anxiety medication for a while. also some therapy and believe it or not (i have been there) but repeating a mantra to yourself helps. i used ';worrying doesn't change anything'; it helped me get through stuff. as far as feeling anxious with no good reason in my experience that usually means you need to go see a professional and talk and they can help you determine what would be best for you. hang in there it will get better.
hypnosis is very effective for treating anxiety

Have a look on the website below for further details

Good luck
i had excellent results with Paxil.

If it is debilitating - as it sounds to be - you should consider drug therapy - the benefits far outway the side-effects. My problem was heights and I needed to work 50 feet up sometimes for my great paying job....couldn't quit over such a stupid thing so I took meds - Paxil. THE NEXT DAY I was up 50 feet working ALL DAY with NO PROBLEMS!!!! Huge difference. Without it, I was crippled, I HAD TO GET DOWN - my heart raced...I couldn't concentrate on anything, my hands shook, I froze and was constantly wiping my face or moving like a stuck robot!

Paxil may not work in one day for everyone, but it seems great for anxiety.
Hey Sam

Anxiety is usually all in the mind. I would try to get into an activity that will boost your inner self confidence and make you hakunamatata or however you spell that. Find yourself an ipod or mp3 player and go jogging once a day, first a half mile, then one mile then a mile and a half. Accomplish things in your life and be proud. Pride and self confidence stops degeneration and anxiety can in some people come from restless feelings.

There are so many methods to this madness but we all have to find out which method works for us. I think self imaging can help. Find a sport that you are good at and make it happen. Play video games with friends.. heck if you have any PC games to play online let me know, do some fun things. Usually people who have serious problems have idle time to think and the mind is what controls the body.

Can someone read my essay and please give me advice on how it can be better?

thank you so much here it is:

Political, economic, and social conditions have often led to turning points that have changed the course of history for nations and peoples. Example, The French Revolution. It was the age of reason/enlightenment. The causes of the French Revolution are concerned with the class differences that were existent in France. France gained a lot of their power, influence, and wealth. In France these people were put into categories. First and second estates consist of the rich nobility and the clergy. Over 95% of the population was the third estate which included bourgeoisie (middle class) and the poverty-stricken lower class.

Conflicts began between the third estates when they demanded an equal say in government. Some of the political, economic and social causes of revolution that occurred in France which are that Louis XVI were a weak ruler and his wife was unpopular. American Revolution inspired political ideas. Wars and royal extravagance created debt, inflation and famine caused problems such as peasants making little money but paid high taxes. That in my opinion is injustice. The Revolution and ensuing wars with Europe devastated France鈥檚 economy. The French feudal system eventually was abolished.

I can relate the French to Latin America because the French Revolution inspired political ideas. Royal officials committed injustices and repression. Napoleon鈥檚 conquest of Spain triggered revolt. Peninsulares and creoles controlled wealth and lower classes toiled as peasants with little income or as slaves. Only peninsulares and creoles had power just like in the French Revolution, only the rich nobility and the clergy had control and the peasants were being treated unfairly. The Mestizos, mulattos, Africans, and Indians had little status in Latin America. In Latin America there was a great deal of racism.

Educated Creoles spread enlightenment ideas. Nearly all colonial rules in Latin America ended, new countries were established and representation government was slow to develop. The military or the wealthy controlled much of the region until the late 1900鈥檚. Many places kept the plantation system and much of Latin America continued to have a strong class system as well. The American republic, because of the enlightenment ideas, became a symbol of freedom in Europe and Latin America. The United States constitution became a model for liberal government. The American Revolution鈥檚 success inspired others to revolt against their governments.

In conclusion The French Revolution and Latin America have changed our nations and peoples but there are still a few things that are still with us such as, racism. It is still all around us but it isn鈥檛 as bad as it was before. There are positive things to say about the revolutions though. Lower class people aren鈥檛 being treated unfairly like back then and enlightenment ideas have helped this world a lot. People are afraid of change sometimes but change has given us more opportunities even if some were negative there were still some that were positive that has helped us a lot.Can someone read my essay and please give me advice on how it can be better?
very good!

you had a great topic sentence and detailed facts and examples that support it so nicely.

try not to use such traditional transition words, that is really my only advice.

If you must use a traditional transition word make sure that it is not at the start of the sentence.

all in all, good job!Can someone read my essay and please give me advice on how it can be better?

thyroid conditionWhy is my hair falling out? Any suggestions or advice woill be greatly appreciated.?
There might be something seriously wrong with you if your hair is falling out maybe you have Pulmonary Hypertension its a serious disease!
I'd suggest you speak to your hairdresser, but here's my experience... I noticed my hair falling out and my head of hair was thinning when i was at my most stressful period at work. I'd work till wee hrs of the morning....also, a friend of mine had used too many different hair products, conditioners and styling gels, lotions...etc. and she started to develop bald patches.

Whenever your hair is too long, the excess weight after adding conditioner (especially oils), can cause greater hair fall.
U should try olive oil it will help keep your hair from breaking. Also dont put a lot of heat on your hair it will only make the breakage worse. Also get a good conditioner.
put your scissors down then you are sorted
if its coming out in bunches, u should seee the doctor. are u pulling it out? if its just a strand or two, ur fine

  • I am looking to purchase a new car. I will be a first time buyer. Any suggestions or advice?

Love your avatar, the choice of car you choose is ultimately yours. You can read up on the model or models of car or cars you are interested in. You can go from dealership to dealership and just look at what they have offer, reading the critique sheet on the windows of each model. You can read what others say about that particular model you have chosen in magazines like, car and driver. I'd say they try to be non biased in their evaulations. Or, you can just take one out for a test drive and see if you like it. there are hundreds of possiblities the choice is yours. In the car magazines, look for fuel mileage comparisons, look for road worthiness, dependability, comfort, accessories, maintenance reports and upkeep costs, and then most of all look at the insurance costs for that particular vehicle. You can ask your insurance agent for price quotes or ask the little green gecko, ha-ha just kidding, no you really can get an insurance quote if you just look around. Good luck to you, hope you like your car.I am looking to purchase a new car. I will be a first time buyer. Any suggestions or advice?
Buy a 2000 trans am, they kick so much @$$!!!!I am looking to purchase a new car. I will be a first time buyer. Any suggestions or advice?
Research the type of car you are interested in and check the asking price of several dealers. Shop around. Stay away from high pressure salesmen. Check out the dealership with the Better Business Bureau before you buy to see if there are any problems and/or how they dealt with them. Best advice, take someone with you.
Look for a good used car with low mileage, Please take your dad or Boyfriend with you because most salespeople not all of them take advantage of young ladies because they don't know really what you are looking for.If you want a Toyota go to a toyota dealership or Ford go to ford dealership it is very important.
Buy a car that serves YOUR purpose. Only get the power you need and make sure you are comfortable in it. See what insurance costs are for your choices. Radios are nice but expensive systems are just a lot to maintain when you have to service them. Get a car with a good warranty--3 years at least--and then stick to the maintenance plans. Do not buy extended warranties--they are a rip-off. Just buy the car --and get payments you know you can afford if you finance it. Never more than 3 years. In 4 years you're going to owe more than it is worth. DO NOT LEASE__save up for a down payment...and own it. Your lease means you paid and have nothing to show for it at the end. Good luck and take care of your new car. It is an adult, mature job to own and drive a car
Look for a volkswagon jetta. They last for ever!! like 200k miles with few problems! Am a mechanic an i have 1.Plus there great on gas.
Do good research of what the invoice price of your car is? Also, don't show any kind of desperateness to buy the car. Be ready to walk away if u don't get what u r asking for.
get a good cosigner and some one with experience to help you get your first car
all i have to say is that just because it looks cute doesnt mean u should buy it
Best advice = don't buy a new car. You can get the same model with low miles and 1 or 2 years of age for much less. A car typically depreciates 5% the day you drive it off of the lot after signing the papers for it. Most cars retain only 10-30% of their new value with in 7-8 years.

    As for purchasing tips:

-get financing offers from serveral sources. Start with your bank, see how much they will loan and at what rate. Don't assume the dealer has the best finance option.

-negotiate but be respectful and reasonable.

-never think ';I will never find another car like this'; if you want a car and for whatever reason you are having trouble making a deal

-take your time. Look at several cars and pick out the one that you like best and get a good deal on.
Check out the website source below. It's a little dated, but still pretty good. If you must buy new, remember the rebate is paid by the manufacturer, not the dealer. Negotiate the price of the car with this in mind. Don't let the dealer have you believe that he/she is giving you a rebate. It's not their money. Go further.

If you do indeed finance with the dealer, remember that the interest rate normally has a dealer reserve already added unless you are buying a car with special advertised interest rates (0% for xx months). If it's from a company other than the dealer (HSBC, Wells Fargo, CitiAuto, etc), the finance manager has the option to make points. For example, if you are offered 12.99% interest rate, it's normally a ';buy'; rate of 10.99 plus 2.00% reserve. Always push for 1-2 pts below the rate they quote you. Good luck.
Take your dad or another older man with you. The fact is that a salesman will see you and think ';Oh, a young female! She won't have a clue what she's doing and I can make a fat comission off of her!';. Trust me, on this! I bought my first new car when I was 20 and the salesman (my then-boyfriend's step-father) really took advantage of me.
They will do everything possible to sell you the car right away. Don't be shy to sleep on what ever deal you are offered.Once you accept delivery its hard to go back (impossible). Do your research on line go to Edmund's.com and learn about the cars you are interested in. Throw out the dealer mark up. Things are slow in the car sales biz. You should be able to buy most cars for 200-500 over what the dealer bought it for.Your in charge make your first experience a good one. Don't be impulsive. Be practical don't buy more than you can afford check what it costs to insure the car as well as maintain the car.Tires alone can hurt your wallet bad.
Check publications at a library or bookstore, or on the Internet, that discuss new car features and prices. These may provide information on the dealers costs for specific models and options.

Shop around to get the best possible price by comparing models and prices in ads and at dealer showrooms. You also may want to contact car-buying services and broker-buying services to make comparisons.

Plan to negotiate on price. Dealers may be willing to bargain on their profit margin, often between 10 and 20 percent. Usually, this is the difference between the manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) and the invoice price.

Because the price is a factor in the dealers calculations regardless of whether you pay cash or finance your car and also affects your monthly payments negotiating the price can save you money.

Consider ordering your new car if you don't see what you want on the dealers lot. This may involve a delay, but cars on the lot may have options you don't want and that can raise the price.

However, dealers often want to sell their current inventory quickly, so you may be able to negotiate a good deal if an in-stock car meets your needs.

I would like to be an accountant, i would like some advice?

i am 20 yr's old, i have a passion to succeed in something, i am studing accounting, i am not in any course at the moment as i work fulltime, i really want to get into Bookkeeping can anyone give me any advice on how this can be a reality for me!I would like to be an accountant, i would like some advice?
i am an accounting major as well. i have had 2 accounting classes thus far and will be taking my third one soon. the best advice i can give you is to get into school as soon as you can and also try to get a hold of some old accounting books and read them and work some of the problems in them as wellI would like to be an accountant, i would like some advice?
I am an Accounting Major as well. I only took one full class, Financial Accounting and I am taking Managerial Accounting now. Are you planning on getting your Bachelor's or just your Associate Degree?

I will be a freshman in college next year and i am planning on buying a laptop but i need advice.?

How much memory do i need? (i also download lots of music)

I want a dell...but which one is best?

What programs do i need for my college classes?I will be a freshman in college next year and i am planning on buying a laptop but i need advice.?
Which Operating System do you wish to have? Windows XP or Windows Vista? Since the majority of PCs now come with Windows Vista preinstalled, you have very little chances of finding a laptop running Windows XP. Although, Microsoft has just extended the deadline of Windows XP to 2010 which means your chances are slightly higher. But keep note, Microsoft only extended the deadline for the sake of the low-price PCs and to exclude Linux out of the competition.

Enough with that, let's now look at the specs of your preferred laptop. In college, it is recommended that you have a laptop with Windows XP because most of the software used in your preferred college could run on Windows XP - Windows Vista lacks support.

You should look for a laptop with an Intel Pentium M processor or better. I'd prefer the Core2 Duo Centrino if you're into multi-tasking plus it comes very handy when you're runnng more than 2 applications. The minimum memory you should have is 512MB or more but if you have Windows XP, it's better that you have 1GB if you're running heavy programs such as MatLab, AutoCAD, Physics Simulator, etc.

Asides from the 2 important features (processor and RAM) I've mentioned above, I suggest that you purchase a laptop with a ';Vista Capable'; sticker which states that the laptop is high end and comes with the latest hardware. Although, it doesn't necessarily mean that your purchase a laptop with Windows Vista preinstalled at least if you want to because like I said, a lot of people have experienced problems with Vista and decided to stick to Windows XP.

You said you wanted to get a Dell laptop? Dell laptops are good but it depends on your taste; there are models for all-around gaming; models for office or student use; and even models for both. In my opinion Dell laptops are the best choice because the brand is preferred by many colleges in the US and abroad - it is the most preferred brand for educational computing.

About your programs to use in class, I don't think I can help you there. It depends entirely what course you're going to take. But for the good part, you could at least borrow the software and install it on your laptop. Just wait for your orientation on your first day in college and try to soak in the information pertaining to what you need and what is important. At the most, the school should be able to provide you with software to install but you should first seek permission.

That's just about it... Get a Dell laptop with a Core2 Duo Centrino processor and at least 1GB RAM. With these configurations, you should be able to download a lot of music and run multiple applications without lag or data loss. The preferred OS should be Windows XP Professional (Home Edition would do) but if you'd like to give Windows Vista a go then why not?I will be a freshman in college next year and i am planning on buying a laptop but i need advice.?
If your just using it for school

These will be perfect for you

    http://www.dell.com/content/products/fea鈥?/a>

Inspirons they are offering free upgrades to 3gigs of ddr2 ram and a 320gb HDD which is perfect for what your doing.

You will also be able to pick a color
Get youself a laptip with 2gb ram and at least 160gb hard drive. You can download free software like Open Office to take care of all the programs you will need for college. Dont pay of Microsoft anything. Also make sure you have a DVD R/W / CD R/W.

Maybe post the question at http://www.desktopsupport.tv/phpBB3/inde鈥?/a> or go here to find computer help info - http://www.desktopsupport.tv/dttv.php
Go to http://www.dell.com for all the available options and speciafications for laptops. My partner and I have been using Dell for several years and are very pleased with their computers. I have a desktop. My partner has a laptop. You can order a laptop from Dell online, but I suggest that you work out your order by calling Dell's 800 number and speaking with a real live person. This could save misundertandings and the Dell rep can answer just about all the questions you might have.

You'll need the usual stuff so you can access the Internet and you'll need a word processing program. I suggest either WordPerfect or MSWord. Both are very reliable.
I do not recommend Dell because I have had 5 years of bad experience with their computers.

HP laptops are pretty good. For memory, I recommend a 1GB-2 GB, and for Hard Drive, since you listen to A LOT of music, and will probably need programs for your classes (you didn't list them, so I don't know what programs you'll need for your college classes except Microsoft Office), then I recommend at LEAST a 200 GB HD.

I just bought an HP computer, and it runs very well. It was only 1300, and is has 2.5 Ghz, 2 GB of RAM, and has Windows Vista Ultimate. Make sure to get the normal version, not 64/32 bit for Vista though.

I also recommend Apple. I have an Apple Macbook, and it's pretty good. It's lightweight, easy to use, and it also has a long battery life. However, I recommend getting the Black edition (1499) because it has a large HD, large RAM, and is fast, 2.4 Ghz.

DO NOT GET THE APPLE MACBOOK AIR. If you do, then you'll also have to buy a USB optical drive since the macbook air does not have an optical drive.

The macbook pros are good, but I don't think you need it, unless you do some programming, videos, multimedia, etc.

Lenovo is also good, but is too pricy.

My top two picks are Apple and HP

I need some advice on how to cure what may be an infected lip piercing?

i got my lip piercing about three or four days ago...

and i took all the precautions and went to a professional after i got it done he said all i had to do was rinse with antiseptic mouth wash twice a day which is what i've been doing

but now the surface of where my piercing is getting red and is starting to ooze alittle puss and i'm not sure what to doI need some advice on how to cure what may be an infected lip piercing?
That is an easy one--TAKE IT OUT!!!!!!I need some advice on how to cure what may be an infected lip piercing?
Yeah mine has done that before too. Have you been playing with it alot? I think mine did that because I was turning the ring in my lip too much and touching it without washing my hands immediately before. I recommend something called Blaire's wound wash saline. You can find it at Rite Aid and I don't remember how much it is but I know it's under $10. Try not to move it around a bunch and it should be okay. If it gets worse in the next few days, go back to the piercer and ask their advice.

P.S. When I got mine done, I had to rinse with a mix of 70% water and %30 listerine every time I ate, smoked, or drank anything other than water PLUS I had to wash it with liquid castile soap once a day PLUS use the wound wash saline once a day. Maybe you could do that? Mine turned out great, had it for two years now.
mine did the same thing...some people's do that and some don't...you DO need to twist it once a day so the skin doesn't grow onto it...wash your hands with antibacterial soap first....listerine after ANYTHING you put in your mouth...keep makeup away from the area...clean the outside area daily (morning and night) with antibacterial soap...SEA SALT dissolved in water swished around the inside of your lip at least 3 times a day for at least 30 seconds each time...the key to keeping down the infection is to keep it VERY clean...hope this helps!
im not sure. mine never got infected. u might have to take it off but it doesnt sound bad. its bad if ur lip is triple the normal size it used to be.
    vaseline!!
Doesn't sound really bad yet - keep it really clean, and put some ice on it before it gets worse! Hurry!!!
thats normals just get regular antiseptic and put some on a q-tip and wipe it down
stop piercing your lips for pete's sake.

I find i get stressed out over nothing, I need advice on how to not be as stressed?

I think i care too much about what people think of me,I find i get stressed out over nothing, I need advice on how to not be as stressed?
It's healthy to care about what other people think about you. Everyone should to some degree. However, you need to pick which opinions matter to you, and which opinions don't. For example, I care about what my family, my friends, my boyfriend [[the people close to me]] think of me... as for the rest of the people in the world, I couldn't care less about what they think. You shouldn't obsess over what a complete stranger *might* be thinking of you... when you are probably never going to see that person again anyway.

People are going to talk about you - both positively and negatively. There's no getting around that, because everybody is entitled to form and express their own opinions. So if you can't control it or stop it... why sit there and stress about something you are never going to be able to change? It's a waste of your time and energy. Also remember, too, that you are living your life for you - not for other people.

You're never going to be happy in life by sweating the small stuff. Ask yourself if what you are really stressing about in the current moment is *really* going to matter next week. 9 times out of 10, the answer will be no. Define what's really important in your life - what really matters - and focus your energy on that. When you stop over-thinking things and look at the bigger picture, life becomes better. =]I find i get stressed out over nothing, I need advice on how to not be as stressed?
well you shouldn't. we're all different, there is not one person that is the same. you should feel okay being yourself and unique.

I need legal advice on what my husband may be entitled to..?

I was previously married but my husband was killed and I was left with his life insurance. Down the track I met my now husband and I purchased our house outright with the insurance money. A few years in we got mortgage against the house so that we can purchase two new cars and are still paying this off for the next 25 years.

If my husband and I were to divorce is he entitled to any of the house seeing I paid for it with my money I had before we met? As for the loan we have together he is also responsible for half of the debt right?I need legal advice on what my husband may be entitled to..?
    1. If you were married when the home was purchased, it is considered community property and will be divided as such.

    2. If you were not married when the home was purchased, but he has contributed to the re-payment of the loan, it will be considered community property and divided as such.

Unless you bought the home before you were married, and paid the loan with your salary only, or the most significant part by your salary alone, he is entitled to the home.I need legal advice on what my husband may be entitled to..?
If you bought the house before you were married and it has only your name on the deed, then your lawyer should be able to get the house for you in a divorce settlement, but your ex could argue it as marital property, and depending on how good his lawyer is, win. The debt would also be half his, but why are you paying off two cars for 25 years? Are neither of you working? You need to be doing some serious financial restructuring before you file for divorce.
He won't be entitled to your house and yes, any debt you create together, he is half responsible for. The problem you might have is the fact that you've tied your house into this debt. If you divorce, you'll have to re-mortgage in your name and if he doesn't have the means to pay you in one lump sum, it might be difficult.

I would sell the cars and use the money to pay down the debt. (Why didn't you just get auto loans???That was a bad idea...)

Anything left over should be divided between you both.

You need to talk to a lawyer ASAP.
As long as you were not married when you purchased the house you say in your post ';our house'; if you were married then he can go after the equity in the house. No it does not matter that the money came from your husband that died if you were married when you purchased the house. As far as the loans yes he would have to pay his half.
If the house was purchased after you were married, and more inportantly, if his name is on the deed, then yes its half his.

It doesnt matter where the money comes from, once you are married it all because OURS, not mine and yours......
The mortgage is the key... if he's been paying on it, he can claim equity on it.
You answered your own question. Legal advice needs a lawyer. Laws vary from state to state. In Ca. the spouse is not entitled to inheritance. Is the house in your name only ? Yes he is responsible for half of the debt on the cars. You were right in saying you will be paying for the cars long after they are gone. Home equity is fine if you use it properly. Pay the loan off early as if it were a car loan. If all else fails then maybe he will MAN up and pay for his half and not try to take any money from the house as you paid for it. See if you can come to an agreement.

I need some advice i wanna be a fire fighter but i want to know what are the requirements to become one?

It depends on where you are. Many fire departments will hire people who have no training or experience in fire science, but most require some sort of exposure. You could check at the various fire departments near you. Many have a volunteer fire fighter system and will train you.

My son just got his fire science and paramedic degree from a 2 year college. Having both gives him an edge for any opening that comes up. But working as a volunteer also will help a lot. This lets the department know your abilities and dedication. When they have an opening, you have a better chance at being hired as a regular paid employee.

Cleaning Mattresses, Carpets, Sofas, Window washing, car interiors, wall washing, e.t.cI just started a cleaning company but it seems to be dry (no customers), Any advice?
We just started a cleaning business . We got 500 business cards printed and posted them through our neighbours' doors and passed them on to friends and family . Within one week we had 12 hours of new regular work and we had only posted 300 by then !!

Write '; fully insured '; on the card somewhere because a few folk ask and are disappointed if you are not.

Put cards up in the windows of local newagents . Make sure it looks good though and isn't a hand scrawled , last minute , idea . Use one of your busines cards if you are allowed .

Put your address on the card so people can come round and see you if they want .

If you live close to us just forget all this stuff and move ... (but sell us your stuff real cheap first ... wink..)I just started a cleaning company but it seems to be dry (no customers), Any advice?
Leaflets (need not be fancy) in the library

    Notice in newsagents windows

Any Army/RAF bases nearby? Put a notice in the community areas. This could be a big earner.

Go round estate agents; introduce yourself and leave your details.

Leave your details at the local council offices and social services.

Practice introducing yourself and your business so you sound professional, courteous and the sort of guy people want to invite into their homes. Use family, a mirror, a camcorder; anything that will help you refine your introduction.

Make yourself a free website. Easiest way is to type WWW dot, then FREE and WEBS (all one word) then dot com (Yahoo won't let me give it in one go, as they are a competitor site, and better.) Make sure your web address goes on all your leaflets.

Make sure you do some BEFORE and AFTER photos (especially cars/gravestones etc. You may have to fake a dirty home - people are unlikely to give permission). Put these on your website, and make a folder of them to show to estate agents and other enquirers.

If you get contracts with local businesses, you may need to take on staff. If this happens, get an accountant who also does payroll - and fast!

    I wish you well.
Approach your local council and social services departments-you may get a contract for old peoples and residential homes also approach big companies for contracts-you need a business manager,,,Think big and ambitious, believe in what your doing and people will pick up on your confidence-remember YOU have to go THEM!!!

you have to build up a good reputation, loads of advertising and promotions to start with then word of mouth should keep you going, get out there and talk to people give out flyers, advertise in shops ect GOOD LUCK
Flyers through doors, or give some out to the mums and dads at the school gates where your kids go to school.
You need to do more advertising and perhaps print some leaflets with special offers on them to attract the customers.
Advertise! Now is the right time to do it because people are thinking about spring cleaning - play on that fact in your advert. Do a leaflet drop in your area.
    Whats your USP ?

Are you using a good 'features / benefits' statement on your advertising ?

Have you approached your 'warm market' first?

    Hows AIDA coming along ?

Whats does your ';Elevator Speech' sound like when spoken out loud.. (you do have an elevator speech dont you !!??)

if you dont understand any of the above then take a course on 'marketing'.... most business owners set up a business they are an expert in, and forget that potential customers only care about ONE thing....themselves...

so once you get the marketing figured out... your business will start to grow.

(marketing teaches you to look at your business from a potential customers point of view, not from yours !!)

and because your not doing so well... you need some advice from an expert...

check this site out, sign up for the newsletter, listen to the audio.. if all else fails email me and i will give you some help.

    ( i am a marketing manager)

    Leaflets are generally good.

Try not to crowd the leaflet with too much info, put in only what's needed and you'll do great
Business cards with a coupon on doorsteps. That is how I got my maid and I wasn't even looking for her!
    Advertise.
Go out and annoy people with junk mail flyers and put an ad in your local rag. (pardon the pun!)
advertise, print out some leaflets and get posting.xx good luck
Get the Yellow Pages out, start from the beginning (A), and just start calling maybe 5-10 business a day that you feel could benefit from your service - asking to speak to the owner (preferably) or manager and then telling them what you do.

You could mail business cards or flyers but actually speaking to the person in charge allows some back and forth discussion and should create a lot of jobs for you.

In addition, you may end up with a big contract that will allow you to expand. Good Luck
Ask some potential customer if you can clean for free in exchange for three solid referrals. Charge only for your consumables and ask him if you can put up a sign at place of business.

Do a great A++ job and charge the referrals a little higher to make up the difference.

Sometimes you have to prime the pump.
You have a PC so why not print off about 100 flyers and take them to businesses on industrial estates near you. Ask if you can post one on the staff notice board. If the business has offices you may even get a call to clean the office carpets, reception furniture etc or valet the staff cars.

Good Luck! I know how difficult starting up a business can be.

Advice on how to be patient?

    Hello,

I work in a welfare to work program. Sometimes I get chewed out by these participants and I really get angry too because it's not like I don't care about them. But after one encounter, I thought I can be more patient. The people I typically get angry with the most are those who you can't communicate with because they're very unwilling to listen to any kind of reason and even after explaining they want to talk to someone else. It was like whatever I was saying did not get through to her one bit and I got real frustrated. Any tips?Advice on how to be patient?
Hey, I sit on the opposite side of the table from you. I am one of those clients/patrons.

It takes two to Tango and a person doing it by themselves look mighty silly.

Don't entertain upset people. Give them to someone that can handle them if they are not satisfied with you or tell them you will speak to them later and send them a print-out of what they need to do.

Don't take it personal. That is their hang-up if you are being polite and trying to explain to them. There are Social Workers that are crude and so many patrons associate every worker that way. If you are not a Believer, believe me, your job will have you believing in the Almighty!

Ask God every day before you go to work, to help you treat your clients the way you would like to be treated when you are confused and upset. It will get better. Trust!Advice on how to be patient?
Patience is the only way to get through to these types of people, so it is good you realize that is what u need. Try to look at it from their point of view. You can say your point that you are trying to make, however they can not. Try an approach that comes from how they see things.
It is praiseworthy that you wish to make a difference, solve all problems at your own level. Some people may either not understand you or pretend not to in order to talk to someone else for some hidden agenda. There is not a thing you can do about such people.

But it might be worth introspecting on your motivation: are you doing a job or are you trying to set the world right? How good a communicator are you? And most important, do you care for the people who come for this welfare programme?
    Hi Bizarretrianglelove,

It helps to take a look at what ';impatience'; is, to find out how to be ';patient';.... Impatience is hasty, angry, too quick at making a decision, before having all the accurate picture of a situation.....

    %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

It self-centered, faluty reasoning.... It's just plain self-centered... So, to be patient, look for ';others needs';, letting them ahead of you, or letting their needs come first.... It's not thinking so much about your needs and rights.... It's being kind to others, being in self-control of yourself for every ones' benefit... ';I'; am not the center on the universe... ';I'; can wait... ';I'; can have others get or do something before me, and not feel threatened or angry.....

    %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

What can work for YOU, is : to mentalize and allow YOURSELF, to let the feelings flow through YOU, instead of ';reacting'; and ';acting'; upon them.... What also helps, is to have : ';a sense of humor'; and laugh things off... smile and you can fake it... till you make it! :-)

    %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks, for the question! :D

I wish you all the luck, and patience in the world :)

    My regards!

    Take care!
Continue to do your best, and develop a new perspective on life. The people you are dealing with may not be listening and might not like what you have to say, probably because they know you are right.

Just let your words sink into their minds, maybe one day you'll be surprised that you did help someone.

Try to stay focused on why you are there. And most of all - STAY POSITIVE! :)
give them good eye contact, and try to listen. Think about the blue yellow green color of their eyes or something. - anything to distract you. - that's what I do anyway. try to find something pleasant to focus on besides them.
When you find the cure for patients, I bet you can bottle and sell it and never have to work again!
learn to serve others. maby the person was having a bad day, and by not loosing your temper and saying some kind words, you could brighten their day. just keep trying at it. i know it's hard and it'll take some work and thought, but you can do it!

My dad visits and sits in silence for hours wanting conversation to be made, any advice?

I love my dad, he is a good man. But he will visit our home and sit in silence with my partner happily for hours. This does not bother me when my dad and I are alone as I know it is not uncomfortable. When my partner is there or anybody else, he will sit in silence and expect conversation to come from us. he will sulk if we dont and it makes me feel anxious as I feel exhausted putting on s show and thinking of conversations for us all to talk about. My dad is 69 and likes my partner but he has always expected entertaining as my mum did it all their marriage. any advice? My dad visits and sits in silence for hours wanting conversation to be made, any advice?
Usually a good meal and maybe a glass of wine with it(if he drinks) will loosen the tongue and make for good conversation. Dessert and coffee/tea definitely would help conversation. Then like others said, maybe playing a game would help.My dad visits and sits in silence for hours wanting conversation to be made, any advice?
You don't have to entertain a family member who comes to visit for hours. Sulking doesn't mean that you have to do anything different.

You may even be mistaken. How do you tell the difference between being quiet and sulking? Maybe you are too worried.

Just be natural and stop trying to entertain. He may be quite comfortable just being there with you.
Sounds like there needs to be some shared interests developed. If he is there a lot, maybe he needs to find some other people to hang with sometimes, too. Of course you all want to share time together but for him to depend on you for all his entertainment is not appropriate. It will wear all of you out. Don't be fooled, old dogs can learn new tricks if they want to.
sounds like your mum is no longer around. if so i am sorry about that. it sounds as if he is just bored and needs attention. is he in good health? maybe he can work or find a volunteer job somewhere in his interest. discussing the news and current events can help or he can help you out around the house. sometimes people don't know how to get a convo started. i hope this helps.
What's the problem? Your dad sounds a lot like me. He isn't going to change, so why not start the conversations? He has social anxiety. Be a good daughter and keep the entertainment going as long as he is alive.
Go on tirades about 69 year old people who sulk because someone won't start a conversation with them. Ask him what does he think of that?
you should start like monopoly or charades or something and that will get everyone in the mood; or talk to him when you two are alone about it
There is no rule saying you have to invite him. You need to space out visits so they dont put this drain on you so often
that sounds tough. you should try keeping him busy with activities. :S Hope that helps probably doesn't, but good luck
Thank goodness for tv. Put it on!!!!

My ankle is really swollen any advice to what it might be from?

Bug bite, sprain... there are a few things that could cause it.

Is it red? Can you walk on it without pain?

You can ice it for 10 minutes (no longer) while elevating it on some pillows. It will help bring down the swelling and you can do this a few times a day.

Make sure to chew your food very well before swallowing, this is a huge key to allowing your food to digest with the least amout of work. That can make a huge difference. Eat smaller portions and healthy snacks in between. Drink more water.
4 liters of water a day.,5 small meals ,this always works.

If you want advice, my advice is don't do it.
well there might be rich guys at hotel or golf club but they might not be single . casino's too might have some .

an escort might be a risky job, use caution and protection
doing this will increase your income but in a little while you'll get a low self esteem... try doing something else if you've got the looks!
Don't even think about it. Try finding a job or something but not that.

You don't want to end up being raped or murdered.

Would it be safe to say that the Old Testament sometimes provided bad advice for that era...?

    Deuteronomy 25:11-12 (New International Version)

If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.Would it be safe to say that the Old Testament sometimes provided bad advice for that era...?
That's some classic literature. Most of them seem to shy from the OT... I no longer wonder why.Would it be safe to say that the Old Testament sometimes provided bad advice for that era...?
The passage talks about marriage and how to conduct yourself. It points out how a man shouldn't let his wife of the hook, just because she's your wife.

'Even if your wife helps you, but touches another man's 'private area' in the process, you should punish her.'

It does not take in to account circumstance or accident and could lead to rash judgements if read in a literaly sense.

    Fair ?, NO.
Yes, it would be safe to say... bad advice.

The Sermon on the Mount was good, but now many ';believers'; say that the Sermon on the Mount does not apply to them!!!!

So in the sense, the book is letting everyone down.

But of course a book is not the light of God either. That would be the real thing. Click on my avatar if you want and explanation of this answer.
I think all the laws of Moses were good for that era. Why, he was a prophet of the almighty God. It is easy for us to laugh at these laws, I think it is because we don't understand that time and culture. In some passages in the Bible we can read what these people did when they did not live under any law, it was horrible (read for example the Book of Judges).

Jesus said these laws were given because people had such hard hearts. I think Jesus was right. There may come a time even in our western culture when people may want to have stricter laws, if circumstances require it.
I guess this blows your theoretic blasphemy, huh?

    2 Timothy 3: 16 - 17 tells us unequivocally:

All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Thank you and watch what you say and write. Pray on it first to make sure it is worthy and within approval by Jehovah God.

well try leviticus 18....that part is against gays! and people who have sex with relatives! and people who have sex with dogs! and it says if they do all the bad sexual practises you'll ruin the promise land and bring famine and disease(thankgod australia aint a promised land)
    Don't believe the Old Testament

That piece of literary work won't work in modern times... it's too unideal for our way of life now... we have a revolutionary human rights and different constitutions now which are logically and practically better than any primitive religious texts.
The old testament is quite flawed, that is why the new testament came along. The old testament is very primitive in many aspect. The new testament reflects the growth in human attitudes over the years
Hahaha the old testament reads like the hilarious old english laws that no one botherd getting rid of.
    Very harsh %26amp; outdated advice
Why judge Moses when you did not live in a time of coming out of Egyptian bondage with thousands of complaining Jews in the wilderness.

Our culture is way different than theirs.

This law imputes that godly shamefacedness is preferred: for it is a horrible thing to see a woman past shame.
That is bad advice. You should cut off the guy's private parts not her hand. What was God thinking.
This seams to be the law of the gangs.

My 18 year old wants to join the Navy. I'm nervous but it might be the best thing for him any advice ?

If he's not focused on college or a career goal, the military can be very beneficial in terms of developing maturity, self-reliance and teamwork. My 18 year old wants to join the Navy. I'm nervous but it might be the best thing for him any advice ?
The military can be a good influence in terms of responsibility, confidence building and focusing on goals. However it is a big decision, he needs to make sure he is familiar with the navy and be sure he can handle training. If he is at all unsure of his decision than waiting a year can't hurt.My 18 year old wants to join the Navy. I'm nervous but it might be the best thing for him any advice ?
It's a big commitment. It's not like McDonald's where he can decide he doesn't like the manager and quit. His pay will be low and they'll work him like a serf. He will have the chance to learn a skill and he will have a chance to see the world.

I spent 22 years in the navy and have no regrets.
Don't let him whine his way out of boot camp. Videos on boot camp on youtube.com if you're interested.

Also material here for getting in shape and other stuff.

    And Navy.com

I went in the Air Force for job training and ended up staying 20 years.
4 out of 5 people in the Navy are Gay
It is a scary time for any branch of the military. We are at war and there is the possibility/probability of being deployed. My cousin is a linguist in the Navy and has been in for 6 years. He has yet to be deployed to a war zone. He has gone to Germany but that's all so far. There are jobs that may keep him out of war zones and the Navy and Air Force are more technical branches than the Army and the Marines. My husband is in the Army and does aviation. His best advice is to spend a considerable amount of time researching job options. He was 25 when he joined, college degree and a good head on his shoulders. But he still spent the better part of a year researching jobs that he could put to use in civi world. He finally chose aviation (he works on the electrical systems for the Blackhawks and Chinooks) after much hemming and hawing. Give your son your full support... eventhough you are concerned for him. He needs to know that you stand behind him and his decision. Have him study hard for his ASVAB so that he can qualify a wide variety of job options and make sure that he researches jobs that interest him and that he can put to use in the civilian world incase he doesn't want to make a career of the Navy. Good Luck!!!
It's a big decision. These days, everyone gets a rifle in their hand and is told to march around in the desert. Marines, Air Force, Army and Navy. He will also have sea tours being in the Navy.

However, he will learn a work ethic he can find no where else, and get put with responsibilities as an 18 year old that most 30 year old's do not even have yet. It's a great way to serve your country and make something of yourself.
I agree with the first answer it is difficult, especially if your opinions are a little more negative towards today's government. But it is a great life opportunity. He can get experience there he'll get no where else

Think my greyhound could be having a bit of pain.Any advice please?

Greyhound is 11yrs old.As anyone who has such a dog will know they almost have to fold and unfold in order to get up and down. He is taking longer and often winces. He is heathy and still enjoys his walks and a good run. Is there anything I can buy to keep his limbs ';oiled ';and pain free.? ThankyouThink my greyhound could be having a bit of pain.Any advice please?
SEE YOUR VET!!!!!!!!Think my greyhound could be having a bit of pain.Any advice please?
you can give him codliver oil along with his food,it's perfectly safe to do so or give him tuna with sunflower oil. That'll help lubricate his joints, and give him an amazingly shiny coat.if you're really concerned about him or he's in a lot of pain take him to the vets.
I have an 10-1/2 year old greyhound and she has been going through the same thing. It is just the aging process.

I give her a buffered aspirin especially for dogs, one each day. They are called Vetrin. I have heard of people giving older dogs a baby aspirin every day, but you might check with your vet.

I also give her over-the-counter glucosamine supplements made just for dogs that help keep their joints healthy. I buy them at the grocery store, but I'm sure any Pet food store would carry them. This is what I use. http://www.hartz.com/Our%20Products/Brow鈥?/a>
plain old cod liver oil(this was advised to a friend by a vet).break a capsule on their meal and they don't even notice.Good luck and a big hug for your dog x
There is a lot of great advice covering this topic on www.greytalk.com which is a forum for greyhound lovers. You may want to check with a holistic vet and see what suppliments they reccomend for join health. Check out greytalk, that web site is awesome. Good luck!
there are alot of herbal tablets you can buy that work but it sounds like he has got arthritis and although these tablets do work if he is crying he might initially need something stronger so i would take him to the vet for a check up and see what they say.
There are supplements, such as Synoviflex, that contain glucosamine and chondroitin, that work wonders for joint pain and weakness in older dogs. We have a 12 year old Dobie that was having lots of trouble standing, and would fall down all the time because his hips were giving him trouble. We thought we were going to lose him. Then we talked to a vet who recommended the Synoviflex, and you would not believe the difference it has made!! You can find it and other brands of supplements online. Best of luck with him~~
as always I suggest that you ask your vet first

I was told that they are using the 3v caps that I use for my dog when he has skin issues to also help with joints.

There are other problems though as I found out at the vet this week that seem like they are joint problems so I would go to the vet or at least ask.

There is medication to treat it if it is arthritis
I have 2 greyhounds, and if he is pain then your vet should give you pain relief maybe you should get a second opinion. You could try giving cod liver oil capsules every day but really these don't cure. When my last greyhound was in pain the vet prescribed metacam.
See a vet first. Also consider adding cod liver oil to his diet.

My elderly Saluki has similar problems-similar breed to greyhounds.
I would recommend visiting a Certified Animal Chiropractic to check out all the joints, it may be simply a matter that some minor joint adjustments are needed which often a vet and xrays would not pick up on or what a vet would treat simply with pain meds that can hard very on the dogs stomach and kidneys. from trhe link on the bottom of this page you can locate ones that have been tested and certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association

http://www.avcadoctors.com/ Chiro is often used by some of the top veterinary medical rehabilitation clinics as part of the therapy for animals that have under went spinal surgeries or been involved in accidents and falls to help get them walking and moving again for example TOPS http://www.tops-vet-rehab.com/ A chiro might recommend show you how to perform some exercises and massage for you to do at home as part of the treatment

This is one that I have I used and info on conditions that can be helped http://www.petsinmotion.ca/care4dogs.htm on the photo gallery page is one of his other greyhound clients Roxanne who was recognized by the governor general of Canada for her role as therapy dog

My own vet now recommends chiro after seeing the difference it made in one of my own dogs and other clients who have went as some of the veterinary diagnostic used can be very expensive and often with spinal surgeries the outcomes are not that great so he recommends trying chiro first, several years ago he would not have recommended but after seeing the results he understands it has it place in veterinary medicine, Since you dog is only showing minor problems you might only need one maybe 2 visits to tune him up.

My grey had taken a bad spill at 4 1/2 years old and injured his back he was on antiflammatories with hopes the time would heal he was a bit better pain wise but 2 months later still could not run, go upstairs or on the couch, myleograms surgery would have been the next steps had I chosen an orthopredic surgeon route instead I chose chiro one visit quickly diagnosed the area of the spine where the disc where pinching a nerve that controlled his hind end and that was correct through manipulation, during the same visit the chiro also noticed a dropped muscle in the hip caused by compensating and noted the broken hock so examined his legs and hips and noticed he had alignments problems in one knee over the fracture site and that the lip aligment was not right on the other side probably caused from 2 years of trying to compensate for injuries on the right side and said that the problems where likely what was resulting in his falling(he has taken other spills as well) so he did corrections to those areas as well, over the next 48 hours the transformation was amazing, that treatment was 5 years ago and he is still moving better than prior to the treatment, and only one fall due to sliding in wet grass in all that tiime since so made a huge difference and reduced his injury from falling ontop of it. Had I went the ortho route the hind end problems would not have been dealth with so would have still been dealing injuries from falling

One of the conditions that often affects older male greyhound backends is a condition called lumbosacral stenosis which can often be helped by chiro but if not another non surgical method to try is on this site of articles written by a vet who has done a lot of work on greyhounds under lumbosacral stenosis. http://greyhound-data.com/library.php?id鈥?/a>

Another way to help is to feed a diet high in Meat protein and low to no grains

most older dogs lose muscle musle mass which is needed to support joints as their bodies become less proficient at metabolizing protein so it has to come from very digestible sources like meat not grains and they can require as much as twice that of a healthy adult dog.

I did not realize just how tru that was till I looked over the old photos of one of my bridgekids and noted how fast it occured

photo at 7 1/2 years old when I adopt her

    http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/mle鈥?/a>

then at 9 year old http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/mle鈥?/a> she was very active the whole time I was feeding Canidae which has a good meat content but not high protein but you can see the loss of muscle across the shoulders and hips, muscle loss in seniors usually occurs between 7 and 11 years old.

I have been feeding EVO RM for the last few years and tiis is my almost 10 year old http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/mle鈥?/a>

grains cause the production of chemical inflammatory as well as increases insulin changes in the body of older animals so can cause joint swelling and pain.
Cod liver oil capsule three times a week.
yea, them poor old bones need oil, also ,massage can help- just massage instead of stroking- costs nothing- put a little olive oil on your hands-my daughter does with her greyhounds and it seems to help. try to get him to lay where he can stretch out-on a nice blanket to keep his bones warm- a kiddies cot duvet is great,it throws warmth back to their bones. also give fish oil, capsules in food. hope this helps.good luck.
sounds like he is developing arthritis....it is common in older large breed dogs....try hip and joint vitamins at your local pet store....if that doesn't work than i would see your vet for a prescription...

Does any one have advice for sexual addiction, can it be curred? If So How, its for my Boy Friend , Not me.?

He has finally come to the conclusion that he is addicted to sex, and wants to find some ligitimate help. We are deply in Love, and he wants to be sexual with other women, not me as much. He is worried, and doesnt want to ruin us, or hurt me, but he is having trouble with it. Real advice please. Where can we get help, i recognise this is a couples problem not just his. I Love Him Very much and I see him hurting, trying not to do this stuff. He thinks if he does it enough the urge to mess around on me will go away ( I am afraid that wont work, its like an alcoholic, one leads to another).Does any one have advice for sexual addiction, can it be curred? If So How, its for my Boy Friend , Not me.?
Try this - these people have experience and know what they are doing.

http://saa-recovery.org/Does any one have advice for sexual addiction, can it be curred? If So How, its for my Boy Friend , Not me.?
It is very addictive, perhaps 10 times more addictive than cocaine, and it is next to impossible to cure. Treatment can bring at least a reduction if the client sticks with the program.

In the mean time, I feel like you should be looking for better, and don't let promises to change or even actual treatment work sway you in your resolve.
I THINK HE NEES TO SEE A TERAPEST AND TALK ABOUT WHAT MAKE HIM FEEL THIS WAY. PROBLEM LIKE THAT ARE ALL IN UR MIND, AND YOU GUYS SHOULD TALK A LOT ABOUT UR RELATIONSHIP AND DO A LOT OF THINKSTOGETHER THAT WILL DISTRICT HIM, WHEN PEOPLE I BUSSY THEY DON'T REALLY THINK ABOUT STUFF LIKE THAT A LOT, SO PICES OF ADIVVICE TALK A LOT AND ASK HIM HOW HE FEEL WHEN HE START TO GET THE ADDITION, CAUSE SEX ADDITION IS CAUSE BY A LOT OF THINKS.
    he will not change
He is not addicted to sex but addicted to his fantacies. Give him everything the way he wants - he may want to try in different ways. After some time he will cool down - try your best!. Otherwise he will be sick later. Good Luck.
    Run, you deserve better...
I think a lot of people call themselves ';sex addicts'; so they have an excuse for their behaviors.

In my 20s %26amp; 30s, my behaviors would have branded me a ';sex addict'; today. I just wanted to have fun and no responsibilities and I was lucky, no kids or diseases, but it gets real old.

Your boyfriend will change when HE wants to, not before.
    get out now!!!

    you know hes going to keep messing around. its very dangerous out there and you could get an std or worse because of his ';problem!';

you need to respect yourself no matter how much you love him now.
He needs to go to a 12 step program and in his mind just substitute ';sex'; for everything he hears about drugs or alcohol, or in cities they have some kind of sex addict anonymous program. You are right, one is too many and a thousand never enough, no matter what the addiction is...God Bless.
yeah just let him watch porn. just dont give him a lot of **** about it.

  • How do I end a car lease early? I understand it's not wise, but it may be necessary. Any advice?

You can always just go to the dealership that you leased from and end it. Talk to the F%26amp;I manager at the dealership. You will have to pay a fee to break the lease, which may not be financially wise, but that should be the end of it. Usually anyway! How do I end a car lease early? I understand it's not wise, but it may be necessary. Any advice?
well I think the smartest thing to do here is have a friend take the car and just make the car payments out to u and u pay them that way it wont hurt ur credit if u took it back, and it will help ur credit for getting it paid off, also ur friend will have a carHow do I end a car lease early? I understand it's not wise, but it may be necessary. Any advice?
At the end of any lease you have 4 options, Buy it, Sell it, Trade it, Keep it. You could try selling the car yourself, however, it's unlikely that your going to get close to what it owed on the lease plus the residual value. You can call the lease company and ask if you can buy it out, they most likely will want you to make the rest of your payment. If your in a lease, your not getting out of it. I lease all my cars.
You can put an ad in your local newspaper for someone to take over your lease. Give details about the vehicle you are leasing, what your lease payments are per month %26amp; when the lease expires. Also include a contact phone number to call you. Cell phone number would be best.
The best thing to do is to try and sell it. If that isn't an option you can take it back to the dealer and they'll take it back, auction it off and you'll be stuck paying the difference between what you owed and how much they sold it for. You can also let them repossess it and the same scenario happens plus you have a repo on your record.

    1. Believe in yourself and that you can do anything you set your mind to.

    2. Be grateful for everything in life - your life, health, your loved ones

    3. Be responsible (this applies to everything - finances, in relationships, in work, in school, etc.)

    1. This above all else:To thine own self be true, for it must follow as dost the night the day, that canst not then be false to any man. Shakespeare (Hamlet) 2. Do not be afraid to love or be loved. Share feelings. 3.We may not be able to change the past so learn from it. We must be able to forgive ourselves before we can forgive others.Just do your best each day and believe that no one can do better than their best.
THINK FOR YOURSELF. Don't let another human being decide things for you,or tell you how to feel, or influence you in any way.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS. Own everything you do. It keeps you honest, safe, and you realize you rule your own world when you accept that reprocussions or gifts come from your actions.

ACCEPTANCE. When you accept things that happen to you life gets a whole lot easier rather than wasting your time complaining about your life being so hard or whining about things you have to do.

    A 'GROWN' Child:..........

    1. Don't forget to be childlike once in a while but get your bills paid first.

    2. Have a beer once in a while and relax.

    3. Don't get married until at least 30. All the nagging can wait.
    1. Do what your heart tells you it's right.

    2. Watch who your friends are, friends say a lot about who you are, avoid people that don't bring anything positive into your life.

    3. Honesty and responsibility will take you far, those values are very hard to find.
    1. Trust your instincts/gut feelings, they are almost always right.

    2. Learn to accept people for who they are not what you want them to be.

    3. Keep in touch with the people that love you, you may feel you do not need them now, but they are invaluable later in life.
My foster father gave me the best advise before he died:

    1) Some times it is better to let go than go on hating.

    2) No matter how big you are you are never to big to be put over my knee!

    3) You always are loved by me and always have a home here when things don't work right.

    1. something to do

    2. something to believe in

    3. somebody to love
1 - Have no regrets. Your experiences make you the person you are.

2 - Treat people with respect.

3 - Be true to yourself. Don't change for anyone or let anyone try to tell you how to live or how to be.
    1. Live your life with joy and for God.

    2. Never go to bed mad.

    3. Live life like there is no tomorrow.
1.You can never have enough friends or people that love you.

    2. Never take anything for granted.

3.Just be happy, you can't change life sometimes.

I going to be a freshman in a couple days, advice please?

i know i shouldnt be worried but for some reason, i am. i just keep thinking ';i cant belive im in high school';. is there any way to calm my self down. im also shy and its hard for me to make friends.I going to be a freshman in a couple days, advice please?
I'm a junior in high school and depending on what school you are going to, high school is a lot bigger and more crowded... you also have to do a lot more to get good attention from teachers...work harder and get good grades...because you NEED teachers to be on your good side because they are the ones who write recommendations for college. Use the first week of school to make friends, talk to the people who sit next to you in classes because most people don't know each other and its easier to make friends that way... remember that most everyone in nervous and excited so don't be afraid to show it.. also don't rely on others to start conversations because they usually don't... just remember to make friends during the first few weeks because once the first month passes its harder because everyone knows each other by then..and the worst part it so become a freshman outcast..harsh reality...but trust me...you will be fine and you will love high school its a great opportunity and take full advantage of it! good luck!!!

I going to be a freshman in a couple days, advice please?
High school isn't the way a lot of people portray it, or at least the ones I've seen aren't. I'm a junior in high school so I know from experience that it's not this big scary place where people are just waiting to pick on the freshman. Just be yourself and be friendly towards everyone. Talk to the people who sit next to you in class. Also, make small talk with the people who have lockers around you. Those are the two easiest ways to make friends. Just remember, you're not the only freshman who is nervous about high school, so if there aren't many people starting conversation with you, you should be the one to go up and talk to them. In a couple of days you're going to be wondering why you were ever nervous about high school. Just keep an open mind and be nice to people, you'll make friends in no time. Good luck!
Don't be nervous just hang with the guys u hung with in Middle school and I know all ur oals might not be in the same classes with u but u r ushually in classes that r the same age as u so u are going 2 know sum1. But the first day is always hard cuz sumtimes u can't find classes r get ur locker open but it is nothing 2 panic about it just relax and u will be find trust me.
high school isn't even that bad.

I think it's much better than middle school.

Seriously, you have nothing to worry about.

Just picture it as a new school with some

    of your middle school friends.

[cause not all your friends are going to the same high school]

    it's pretty cool.

%26amp; don't be scared to make new friends.

While your in class just talk to the people that sit

around you. That's pretty much it.

You'll have friends in no time.
Shy is not always a bad thing. I tend to be shy til i know the person. Teachers really like it if your shy like you won't talk over them but youl participate in discussions.

Is there an experienced graphic designer than can give me advice?

    Hello,

I need to buy a good laptop which is good for graphic design as i am training to become a graphic designer. I will be using photoshop, indesign, illustrator etc on it. I do have a budget of 拢400 and happy to buy a used laptop.

Also is mac better than windows? I use windows at the mo.

Thanks ever so much for any helpIs there an experienced graphic designer than can give me advice?
If you are wanting to become a Graphic Designer then you need to go the MAC route. Mac software is MUCH better than anything produced for any other platform, plus the hardware accessories are more useful and usable.

Do some research online, there's plenty of information that can help you decide. Is there an experienced graphic designer than can give me advice?
There's no specific answer to which laptop to buy. By the best one you can afford from a quality maker. 拢400 will buy you a decent machine.

If you buy used, consider getting software OS that is contemporary or earlier than the machine. Vista runs poorly on a machine meant for XP. Design software is the same and the most important changes happen in the early versions of the software.

Anyway, design is not about the features of your software or the power of the hardware.

You might consider a printer/scanner bundle as it's very useful for graphic design. It's often easier to work from paper and scan to create you artwork. For example, I sometimes draw a logo by hand and use the computer to tidy it up.

Couple of facts I think need to be pointed out.

Your 拢400 will get you a more powerful PC than it would a Mac. Macs are expensive by comparison to PC.

The software you mention is exactly the same on PC and Mac. Corel Draw is only available on PC. Corel Draw is a more advanced vector editing program than Illustrator, though not quite as easy to use.

Generally hardware support for PC is better (scanners, printers, plotters, sign cutters etc.). If you're used to PC you will find many things on a Mac strange at first, though you would get the hang of it soon enough.
mac is probably the best option

ive seen quite old G3 mac desktops for 拢40

if you do go with a pc, go with dell, they have a great budget range, try to get something with a graphics card not a media accelerator, graphics cards can make dealing with large documents a lot easier!

a high resolution screen is also quite important to pick out fine details, go for someting higher than 1280x800

  • Im pregnant and I need a lotion to avoid strech marks anyone have any advice as to which products are good?

and where i can find them?Im pregnant and I need a lotion to avoid strech marks anyone have any advice as to which products are good?
dont just use regular cocoa butter lotion. Use Palmers Pregnancy lotion. it has alot of vitamin E in it and the other ingredients that help prevent strech marks. i use it on my stomach %26amp; i havnt got a strech mark yet %26amp; im 30 weeks. it can be found at any sore pretty much. google it so you can see what the bottle looks likeIm pregnant and I need a lotion to avoid strech marks anyone have any advice as to which products are good?
I've used Palmers CoCo Butter with Elastic in it my entire pregnancy (I'm 34 weeks) and have no stretch marks thus far although when I first got pregnant I only used it on my belly not thinking about my breast's and thighs getting larger too and the results, my breast's and thighs have stretch marks while my tummy has none. Stretch marks werent genetic in my family my mother and my grandmother didnt get any while pregnant. It worked for me just remember to use it all over because your tummy isnt the only thing that's gonna be getting lager.. Congrats!
    cocoa butter

with the pregnant lady on the front

    IDK if it is that i am just lucky but so far at 30 weeks i have no marks yet and i use it everyday b4 bed ';Thats when you grow';

all i got is vains! and i was 110 Before i got pregnant And am pretty huge :)
palmers tummy butter. I would use the butter not lotion. use it every morning and everynight. I am prone to streatch marks and havn't gotton any yet! You can get them at maternity stores, wall mart, and babys R us. Good luck!
well, stretch marks are actually genetic...so if your destined to get them , you are gonna get them no matter what. but any lotion with vitamin e, cocoa butter, or shea butter in it will help a little, which any little bit matters.
Truth of the matter is stretch marks are going to happen whether you bathe in lotion or not if you are genetically inclined to get them. Nothing prevents them. I'm sorry.
There is major correlation between stretch marks and pregnancy. It is in your genes. Look to your mom to see what your stretch marks will look like. I put Palmer's on 3 - 4 times a day and always before bed and I have them horribly bad, just like my mom's!
I used Palmer's cocoa butter specially made to help prevent stretch marks and STILL got them. I used it religiously too... If you're gonna get them, you're going to get them. Lotion does help a lot with itching though.
A lot of my friends used Bio-Oil and absolutely swear by it so that's what I'm using too.
